Obscura – The Lehman College Literary and Arts Magazine – Bronx, New York

• Created, designed, and developed the official Obscura Logo as introduced in the Spring 2018 edition, vol. 9, of the Obscura Literary and Arts Magazine;

• Worked extensively on budget development and implementation, tracked income and expenditures, created spreadsheets for all fundraising and outreach events;

• Acted as Design Editor and Art Director of the Spring 2018 edition;

• Acted as lead creative designer and planner of a range of events, including bake sales, open mike performances, and the annual Obscura Magazine Launch Party.  This last is the premier event for the magazine and is attended by 100+ people;

• Supervised Lehman College English Department interns in their placements on such tasks as program development, magazine editing, outreach, budgeting and other tasks required in the development and completion of a publication;

• Collaborated with vendors regarding magazine design and printing, event menus, and room décor, and other purchasing and programming needs;

• Collaborated with the President of Lehman College, José Luis Cruz, on his written contribution to the Obscura magazine and on his attendance at the Launch Party.

• Assisted magazine staff in the development and publication of the Obscura Literary and Arts Magazine, Spring 2017 edition, vol. 8;

• Implemented fundraising and publicity events including, the Poetry and Music Performances and the 2017 magazine Launch Party.  This encompassed identifying and booking appropriate locations, collaborating with venue personnel, menu development and hiring entertainment.

• Acted as Bake Sale Coordinator, including management of funds, reserving required space, décor and outreach.

• Collaborated on the publication of online weekly blogs about newsworthy items in the Bronx;

• Conducted interviews with community members and newsmakers in the Bronx;

• Acted as photographer for pictures to accompany written work;

• Edited photos and articles, including the use of Photoshop and Reaper Audio Software

Adoption Choices Inc. – Colorado and Nevada Locations

• Acted as writing Intern for the adoption agency.

• Executed one article per week. Topics discussed were Adoption related issues, concerns and questions. The readers of the weekly article targeted adopted individuals, prospective/adopted parents, and prospective/adoptive families.

• Strict deadlines for publishing weekly articles to be published on the official website and throughout Adoption Choices Inc. social media platforms.
